2006 General Election Candidate Interviews In anticipation of Pennsylvania's upcoming election, the Democratic and Republican candidates for governor and U.S. Senator were invited to meet with the Pennsylvania Catholic Conference (PCC) for an oral interview regarding issues of importance to Catholic voters in Pennsylvania. Individually, all four statewide candidates participated in a face-to-face interview with PCC staff. The interviews took place over several weeks in July and August 2006. Because the interview was oral, the text of each interview was condensed and edited where necessary to assure readability. Questions and follow-up remarks made by the conference staff are in bold. Copies of the interviews were also provided to Catholic diocesan newspapers in Pennsylvania for publication. To read an individual transcript, click on the candidate's name:
In addition to the face-to-face interviews, the candidates will have the opportunity to complete a written questionnaire. The results of surveys will be provided to diocesan newspapers and posted here. |
